General Illustrations

Templar Giant - In illustrating the story of a good natured giant who diverts flood waters to save a human town, I wanted to contrast the size of the giant and the toy-like nature and fragility of the buildings.

Templar Eastern Giant - This giant, drawn for Templar Books, has six fingers, but it’s not an error. It was all part of the brief that asked for me to illustrate a traveller’s tale of oriental giants with more than the normal number of digits.

Grimoire Dungeon - A section of a very large drawing showing classic adventurers exploring a rubble filled dungeon.. Commissioned by Le Grimoire for the French version of the Lone Wolf Role-playing game.

Quangle Wangle - I was asked to use bright, jolly colours for this illustration of the Edward Lear nonsense rhyme “The Quangle Wangle’s Hat”. As I’m always happy to oblige, you’d better put on your sunglasses.

Grimoire Siege - I was asked to show both sides of the city walls at the same time in this Lone Wolf siege scene. The burning towers, grim faced defenders, crazed goblins and giant lizard, I made up for myself.

DK Yankee Doodle - Another picture book for Dorling Kindersley, Yankee Doodle uses the old song as a background to the story of a young musician during the American Revolution. Part of the fun in doing this, was fitting the animals with historically accur

Cry Havoc Page 2 - More drawings from the same series. Not only were they used to illustrate the inhabitants of a grim fantasy city, but also served as concept sketches for a large number of role playing miniatures.

Cry Havoc Page 1 - A selection of the many drawings produced for Rackham Miniatures. Shown here in their magazine “Cry Havoc”, the brief called for dark, gritty characters shown in great detail.
